Stop me if you have heard this before: Bloomberg claims to have insider information that puts Apple's iPhone 4 on Verizon's CDMA network in January 2011.
The "two people familiar with the plans" have told Bloomberg that Verizon "will" (not "might") begin carrying the iPhone 4 in the first month of the new year. With almost 93 million subscribers, Verizon could sell as many as 3 million iPhones per quarter if it landed the handset.
Only top Apple and AT&T executives know how much Apple makes off each iPhone contract, but it is safe to assume that it is very profitable for Apple; otherwise, it makes no sense for the iPhone to remain exclusive to AT&T for so long, unless the original 5-year contract is so ironclad that Apple cannot break free from it until it expires.
